How long does the training take?
The initial training is a two-day course and is between 10 – 12 hours long, however, SHADES are willing to discuss individual needs with purchasers (evenings etc).
Where does the training take place?
The purchaser, more often than not, provides the training venue. SHADES are more than willing to discuss the best methods in which we can meet any requirements.
Is there any after training support?
Course members receive a certificate.. This can be renewed bi-anually by attending a one-day refresher course. SHADES also offer a backup service whereby carers/service providers can contact SHADES for assistance with individual incidents. Course tutors can also submit feedback on the course outlining any issues/ concerns which may have arisen.
Is there a limit on the amount of course members?
We like to run the course for 12 – 14 delegates with a maximum of 18, however, if you do not have this amount of carers/staff then we will endeavour to meet your requirements as we believe in sharing good practice.
There is a minimum charge which equates to 5 delegates.
